Nightworld - F.P. Wilson
This is actually a re-read, something I rarely do, but this book was essentially re-written. This book came out long ago and introduced a couple of characters, one of which, Jack, went on to become an entire series (Repairman Jack) that all took place before Nighworld. So some of the original book didn't make sense anymore. The new version is Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-82297926573885479502014-12-20T11:49:00.002-08:002014-12-20T11:49:42.256-08:002014 Letter
Greetings Everyone -
I hope that everyone has had a great and fulfilling year.
As with every passing year, this one seems busier than the last. As the kids continue to grow and develop their interests there are more things that require our time and energy. More and more of the individual personalities of our three kids are starting take shape and in many cases diverge from one another.Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-63257878412940613592014-01-30T19:47:00.002-08:002014-01-30T19:47:34.152-08:002103 Letter

Never Go Back - Lee Child
Starting the year off right with a new Reacher novel. What more could I want.
Cruel Intent - JA Jance
An Ali Reynolds tale - my first. Seemed like a little more action and maybe a little more of an edge than her other pieces. Good stuff.
Shock Wave - John Sandford
Rough Country - John Sandford
My first Virgil Flowers novels, I like him as a Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-91302368163918511732013-01-31T19:44:00.003-08:002014-01-01T12:02:05.241-08:002013 Reading List

The Affair - Lee Child
A great look back to why Reacher left the army. I'm finding that as the series progresses they are becoming a little more violent - or I am becoming a little more sensitive. A solid read.
The Black Box - Michael Connelly
Classic Harry Bosch. Starts off with the LA riots of the 90's and follows Bosch as he tries to solve a murder 20 years laterTonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-75368496533481959992012-12-13T16:27:00.002-08:002012-12-13T16:27:37.051-08:002012 LetterGreetings One and All -I hope that this letters finds everyone in good heath and high spirits. The biggest news of the year is the growth of our family. On March 31st we adopted. It was something that has been in the works for quite some time really, dating back to 2003. Our new little guy is one year old and when we met him for the first time we knew in about five nanoseconds that this was a Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-16884816899361514002012-09-08T17:15:00.000-07:002012-09-08T17:15:30.741-07:00Lake WenatcheeAfter our successful trip to Dash Point, we decided to squeeze in another trip. This time we wanted to head east a little bit in hopes of chasing down the last remnants of summer like weather, something that has mostly left western Washington already. Now that the kids are a little older they can handle a slightly longer car ride so we opted for Lake Wenatchee.

First, just the sheer effort involved in preparing and going on a trip is at times too overwhelming. There seems to always been more than a few obstacles that make it difficult. It has been great and daunting at the same time. There are so many books to read and so little time. Last year I started reading Michael Connelly's books in preparation for watching The Lincoln Lawyer. I enjoyed the book quite a bit and the movie was OK. I probably would have liked the film better had I not read the book, but Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-50687643029474841272011-12-16T16:39:00.001-08:002012-06-23T08:03:16.472-07:002011 LetterGreetings one and all -
I hope that this letters finds everyone well in mind, spirit and body. A couple of months ago I heard someone talk about dealing with tough times and the importance of sticking with the fundamentals - the basic things that you would do in the best of times. I hope that this letter finds everyone in good health and with an abundance of happiness and joy. We find ourselves closing out another year with more appreciation and thanks than years past. I rarely ever re-read anything I have written, this is especially true of these yearly letters. I won't bore you with the reasons why, but before typing character one this year, I quickly scanned two previous letters. It seems that I often try to summarize each year with a lesson learned or a theme; the reality is all of these themes are just variations of a Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-5488434975603721952009-11-25T20:20:00.000-08:002009-11-25T20:20:03.569-08:002008 LetterWarm Greetings One and All -
I hope that this letter finds you all in good health and spirits. 2008 has been an interesting year for all of us, one of growth, learning, understanding and patience.
We are starting to see signs of “twiness” between Finley and Jade. They are really starting to play off of each other, both in good times and in bad. They talk to each other, laugh with each other,Tonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-45842727653710565542008-03-31T20:58:00.003-07:002008-03-31T21:05:19.542-07:00Still AliveWhat is it like raising twins? I don't know if I can explain it. I am hoping that this example will shed some light on the subject. I started writing a post about the babies when they were six months old...I still haven't finished it. They are 18 months old now and our days are filled with running, yelling, climbing, eating, spilling, reading, yelling, climbing and spilling. She pulls her legs ups and starts rocking. She works so hard and watching it is both fun and a little painful. You want her to succeed so bad, but helping isn't really an option. Finley on the other hand just lays there and watches. He looks at her and silently cheers for her success, yet at the same time has a vibe of him that saysTonyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12184354575866057215noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14816737.post-37988645330979265292007-01-02T11:49:00.000-08:002007-01-02T11:51:28.635-08:002006 LetterGreetings One and All - A cliché is defined as a “An expression so often used that its original power has been drained away”. So enter your favorite cliché here - In the blink of an eye 2006 is over. With each year going by faster than the last, I am running out of ways to say how I can't believe it. She is currently taking her third swim class and the local YMCA and is going incredibly well. She is a real natural. The lessons have really paid off. When Christy and I tried to teach her anything she just clammed up, however with a teacher and her parents in the viewing room, she is willing to try just about anything. This year she was the Cat in the Hat. Of course that meant that Finley and Jade had to be Thing1 and Thing2It was a great day, the clouds parted and the sky turned crystal blue and warm just as the parade was ending.
